    Default Flex my Hex

So I know how to use the Region painter tool and the photo enhance tool to change the colors on an object. The problem I'm having is that does not give me the specific color that I want. I want to use a hex color but the aforementioned method won't give me specifics. Is there any way to do this?

Can you apply a Color or Color Burn transparency?

These are two transparency types found in the Transparency Blend Mode drop down list.

Iggy I assume you are referring to something like #3A9F3A. when you enter that code do not use the # sign. only the numbers and see if that helps.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Alright gang this is what's going on. So I've created this poster/avatar for my next mix that I will be uploading. I was trying to get the colors in my logo to match the color of in the font. Because of the way Xara works, I can't choose the hex number to match these colors when using the color enhancing tool, the colors seem off to me. Attached are the finished product and the original logo.Click image for larger version.

    sure are off

looks to me like you want a hex value of 9e5200 or if that's too dark ae5f09 say - colour picking from a low res continuous tone image is hit and miss - experiment with the colour editor / colour picker [I don't use the xara tools you mention]

Use the color picker (the eyedropper) to sample the deep red on your logo.

I'm missing a piece of the jigsaw. If you created the logo, you have the .xar file for said logo and you obviously have the picture of the young lady.
    1. Open the logo .xar
    2. Import picture
    3. Select the area you want to change the colour of
    4. Use the colour picker to change the selected area
    5. Repeat as required

I obviously didn't have the .xar of the logo so I quickly redrew the areas to show you.

There is also another option that I have used in the Past, seeing that the logo is all white with black and red graphics, you could use paint.net.
open the png file of the image in Paint.net and use the magic lasso tool to select and copy or cut black then red parts in to a new layer.
Or try having your friend export the .ai version from PS and see if the helps, I have been able to open .ai files with Xara.

if its a complicated redraw you could use inkscape's bucket fill which works on bitmaps, or if you have illustrator, it's live trace and live paint
