    Default 3840 Wide Sites

Came across my first customer with a 28" 3840 x 2160 screen today. Yes, that res is primarily for gaming and you need a magnifying glass to see the Windows desktop without zooming to 150%, but it got me wondering. Should we be making site variants to fit 4k and/or twin screen setups? That got me thinking about common screen sizes in general.

I usually go for 1080 and 480. However, I feel 1440 or 1680 would be nice for some designs, dropping down to 1080 as the first variant and 480 for mobiles (480 seems really small now I've typed it out). Is there some form of scale for break points on variants?

    Default Re: 3840 Wide Sites

I have an asus 28 inch 2K monitor 2560 x 1440 and a recently aquired cintiq 24 inch 4K 3840 x 2160 which I am still getting used to having had the 13 inch before - the 24 inch cintiq is great at 4K for detailed drawing but a pita for general use; windows suggests I increase text etc to 200% [nay, it 'recommends' ] but I prefer to drop the res to 2560 x 1440 which is not quite as sharp but ok for most things and syncs with the asus of course in terms of workspace size

I need as much workspace as I can get when using drawing programs with floating dialog boxes, but 4K is too small at 24 inch to read the text 2K is about right

    can't comment on websites....
