A fisher-farmer was granted the rights to fish and farm a piece of land alongside the grand canal by the Great Vizier.

He was shown a fence of length 400 PackOx (px) and given a single stake, which would define the top corner of his land.
He was to place it on the far bank of the canal and the boundary triangle would then define his land for tillage and the length of bank on the nearside, from where he could fish.

His Challenge was to work out where to place his single stake.
Where did he choose and more importantly why?
