    Question The Original Stakeholder

A fisher-farmer was granted the rights to fish and farm a piece of land alongside the grand canal by the Great Vizier.

He was shown a fence of length 400 PackOx (px) and given a single stake, which would define the top corner of his land.
He was to place it on the far bank of the canal and the boundary triangle would then define his land for tillage and the length of bank on the nearside, from where he could fish.

His Challenge was to work out where to place his single stake.
Where did he choose and more importantly why?

The only think changing is the perimeter, so I would chose the triangle with the shorter one (the isosceles triangles) having to build a shorter fence to protect the land.

Marco, you are the Grand Vizier!

Any triangle with the same base and the same vertical height has the same area. Also by equivalence the canal base of any choice of stake location leads to the same length of bank for fishing.

Now the Grand Vizier saw money in this. He decreed that the far bank could only have one stake but that it could be shared.
In his beneficence, he advised all future Stakeholders they had to buy their fence pickets through him.

The Grand Vizier became known as the one who invented banking, stakeholders and shares; the world of finance created in one day.
