Website variants problem?

Hi

I am trying to delete some objects on a mobile variant. I have checked that "Stop sharing with all variants is greyed out" on the main site (and the mobile site) for those objects. However, when I delete the object from the mobile variant it still deletes from the main site. What am I missing here?

Thanks for the response. The link you gave me directs me back to a previous question I asked about deleting pages from mobile variants. This is different. Are you saying that it is not possible to delete individual items from mobile variants that are present on main sites even if the "Share with all variants" is not selected?

If you only copy it to a variant then you can delete them as you wish but to share with variants it will delete the main one too. It should give you a warning.

1. The object was originally shared with variants.
2. I wish to stop this in order to delete the object on the mobile variant.
3. I have turned of "Share with all variants" for the object.
4. When I delete the object on the mobile variant it is deleted from the main variant even if "Share with all variants" is turned off.
5. There is no warning message.

This is ridiculous. The only solution I can see is to delete all the offending objects from the main site, then insert them back.

Thanks for your help. I have deleted all the offending variant linked objects and replaced them on both variants with "Share with all variants" turned off. I believe this is something that Xara needs to fix in a future release. Users should be able to turn off the sharing option and delete objects from one variant only.

Thanks again. I'll have a look at it today. In the mean time I have solved the problem by deleting all the offending objects and re-posting them only on the main variant. Tedious but it worked.
