    Default Magix web designing book

Has anyone tried/read the Magix web designing book? If so, what is your opinion(s) please? Also, are there any other work books available?

    Many thanks

None that I am aware of and I was not even aware there was one from Magix (Xara's parent company).

If they have one, then that is probably the book to buy.

Thanks as always Gary for your prompt reply.

Oh, where or who is best for designing bespoke templates please?

    Thanks again

To use with WD9? If you get the premium version, it comes with about 100 templates. I can't remember how many but a lot. There should be something in there you can work with and it will not cost as much as if you hire a designer to create a template for you.

You can also visit the Xara Web Design Gallery and look at what people have designed and if you see a designer you like send her or him a PM and take it from there.

Think there is an updated version for 2021 with all the updates Xara has made?

I, for one, would not spend £40 on a Magix "official book" for a Xara product. Neither would I throw in £15 postage. I would greatly doubt Magix has updated this since it was written.

Why would anyone pay £55 for a product that itself sells for £45 and comes with a 400-page PDF Help Manual for free or a CHM Help file?

old thread but good point acorn[even if archmed1 is being a pita with spamlike posting]

book publishing is expensive - very few programs in my experience give hard copy anymore, even at a price, it is mostly PDF

because I am the sort of person that likes to scribble notes on hard copy as I work through the program, I prefer this anyway;also it's easier [though not always that easy] to update with new pages

I could calculate the cost of printing off the set of manuals for Harmony, but I'd rather not... lets just say a pack and a bit of CMYK ink and around 2,000 sheets of A4 paper mostly double-sided print
