    Default Restricting web site access

As I said my web site was hacked. It currently uses Joomla! as the back end , something few people seem to know. The only feature that I really like is the fact that I can categorize users. So, some users have access to parts of the web site that others don't.
Is there a plug in or other backend that would provide me with this feature? When I look at things like word press they seem to provide templates and little else.

    Thanks

On one of our work web sites, we use a windows server and have the folder with the site files password protected through windows. So when a user goes to the website they are asked for name and password and then the site is allowed to run. All a function of Windows.

Yes, I was thinking of going to windows and using my windows spreadsheet. I was just wondering if there was any other back end like Joomla!.
    Thanks
