    Default Yin & Yang

The Challenge is to create the Yin & Yang symbol, using circles.

My design began with a 16cm circle. The next size down was 8cm and the last size is 2cm.
I finally included black edging of thickness 2mm.

This might not be exactly to your specs Acorn but this is my technique.

Looks like an elegant solution to me Gary.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

    Info Re: Yin & Yang

@Gary, the only difference I would have made was change the larger circle to Editable Shape and remove a node and make the top and bottom nodes Line and Cusp.
I would then have cloned and flipped to get another semi-circle.

To make it with circles only, I drew my large circle with a Linear Fill, Black and White and Profile (1, 0).

Here is my solution: Yin & Yang.xar.

If you are puzzled by the "square" Yin & Yang, that one needs to be Previewed in a browser.
A small bit of CSS turns the squares into the required circles.

    Why?

    Two reasons.
First, it removes jaggies that bitmaps produce. Scale the browser to 500% or higher and compare top with bottom.
Second, only one image is generated and that is tiny. Download and rendering speeds are therefore quicker. I could have used code to generate the abrupt linear gradient but its coding is almost as bit as the small bitmap I chose instead.
