    Default static background

To get a static background, I've seen a few tutorials that tell you to right click on the background, and select pasteboard background > static.
That option doesn't appear for me. (I'm using Designer pro x)
the only options under pasteboard background is "edit pasteboard color" and "default background color"

Also can someone please explain what a pasteboard background is. The help has no info on what it actually is an how it differs from a normal baclground.

    Thanks

hairyback, you first need to select an image and right-click and pick "set as pasteboard background".
The image can be on the design page already or in the Bitmap gallery.

A Pasteboard is the bottom-most layer and can be fixed, scrollable, stretched or tiled.
You can drop colours onto it and in a website the colour fills the entire browser viewport.

The Help has oodles of detail on special layers and the Pasteboard.
