    Default TG Forums Layout

I posted a thread here, about Xara Plugins.

It got moved from here, to somewhere (sorry Gary, I can't remember where!).
    Then it got moved to:-
Other Xara forums > Xara Resources > Xara Compatible Plugins

OK. So, that's obviously the place where it should be. As there's a specific forum for that.

BUT, If I had posted there in the first place, I don't think I would have got any answer to my query as quickly as I did?!
Because, there's no indication as to whether anything has been posted, on the front page of TG.

Any thoughts from the Experts and the Management?

I was just anticipating the email from Allison. But it was not I who moved it into it's current home.

    Oh! Sorry, Gary.
I thought it was you moved it to Xara Graphics Chat in the first place. Before it got moved to its current location.

But, my point is about where it is, it would not really have been seen.
As I said, there is no indication on the front page of the forum as to whether anything has been posted or not.

I DID move it to Xara Graphics Chat. Someone else moved it to Plugins. My thinking was you would get more visibility and responses in Xara Graphics Chat than Questions and Feedback.

And I think you're definitely right there.

And, as I keep saying, where it is now (Other Xara forums > Xara Resources > Xara Compatible Plugins), no-one is going to know that anything has been posted there.
Because, there's no indication on the front page (home page) of TG, that anything has been posted.

Where would you like it to be? I am only too happy to move it.

Xara Brushes, Xara Compatible Plugins and Xara Tips & Tricks should not be in 'Sub-Forums'.

They should be visible, just as you can see 'Dear Xara' and 'XaRT'.

Then, if someone post in these forums, you can see that the date is recent/current, or that the date/name has changed.

I moved it into the plug ins forum, but I waited until it had garnered enough of a following that it would bring attention to the plugins forum. I think that you are right that the plug ins forum would get more attention if it were a forum that showed more prominently on the main page.

Barbara is the one to ask about changes to the forum layout, but I do have a possible suggestion. Perhaps "The other Xara forums" section could be re titled to "Xara resources" and then the FAQ, brushes, plug ins and tips& tricks could all be forums under that section like Dear Xara rather than subforums.

I ONLY ever click on the "NEW POSTS" button, then I get to see posts from ALL the forums.
