Basically this is all you should need to do. When setting up the publish settings ensure you're publishing to shtml.

I too thought that these were automatic but after contacting my hosting company I was told that I had to set up an htaccess file myself.

Hi Mike, sorry for the late reply, have just found through my hosting you do have to insert ssl via the htacess file. All good I did that but then my forms disappear. Have just found out it may be because I am not publishing my site correctly, need to publish to public-html file...not sure how to do this with xara...any suggestions?

If your host specifies to publish to public_html then add this to your publishing subfolder settings.
    Note: It's an underscore (_) not a hyphen (-)

I posted an article about this, its a sticky at the top of this very forum!
The important thing here is that you opt to include sitemap when you publish so it picks up URLs with https in them.
Redirection is also important because links are relative, anyone visiting on http stays on http
