I ticked the do not show again box and it disappeared

but today I get a new offer for the same thing, but slightly cheaper:

these are just the latest in a long line of spam marketing notices

Xara, I do not wish to receive continual spam marketing information from you of any sort; I believe I am entitled to ask you to desist and that, having so requested, you are now obliged to ensure I do not receive it

Pease desist forthwith

I invite anyone else fed up with this to add their request to this thread

Agreed, Steve, it is intrusive and unnecessary (and shabby) - after all, they are, for the most part, preaching to the converted.

Dear MagiXara...

If you haven't realised GDPR / Datenschutzerklärung might just apply here - big time (c.f., UK Consumer rights Act 2015).
I include Xara, who claim Magix cover marketing, as the noticeboard is hosted by xara.com.

spot the differences.. apart from the way it is described and the cut-off date I can see non whatsoever - same thing for same price.. same irritation factor, same 'no if i was going to update i would have done it by now' factor

there should be a means of switching this out in the program UI or in privacy settings in my account [wait does it have privacy settings....

Jimi, no, no, don't go. At least wait until Magix starts hijacking your audio and video (darn, it probably will think of doing it now).

The do not show option will ensure that particular noticeboard won't get shown again but if a new one comes out (like an upgrade offer) it will show again. I have however sent a complaint to Marketing on this that it should recognise whether a user has the latest version or not.

The other screen in Jimi King's attachment comes from Magix Connect and isn't anything that is distributed within the Xara Products. You can go to Control Panel and remove it from there.
