Could you just use the mould tool to give the ship a bit more perspective without redrawing?

This is a very quick and dirty attempt:

Cheers for that Tim but the mould tool doesn't really cut it on a 3D image, fine for 2D but it changes all prospective at once in my opinion. To do it even close you'd need to do more than a single mould for left & right vanishing points.

I'd still go with what Sadler said, and pull it a little further out of the ring, even if you leave the perspective as it is. It still feels a little flat, pulling it a little further out may help. Even Tim's quick and dirty attempt looks a little more of a "pop-out" effect. Although to be fair, it does look really good as it is too.

And even more out of the belt. Personally I think this is too much.

I think the image in #14 is the one Egg and you woke up Tg members, including myself, to participate

#14 is my favourite too. Really like the additional rope around the ring buoy. If I were to suggest one thing (lol) it might be to remove the wall shadow from the bow and mast to see if that does anything.

There used to be similar ferries sailing out from the port of Newhaven to Dieppe when I was a boy - the Velency, Villandry and the mighty Senlac, which even had a disco! Living near Newhaven it was something we'd occasionally do on a Saturday, was have a day trip to France. Although it was about a four hour trip each way! The ferries had to reverse in at Newhaven, and if it was breezy, that turn was a bit scary. Once coming back from a school trip we were stuck out waiting in a force 8! Ah, great memories!
