Freezing when first starting a text line

Hello everyone and good day,

I'm curious if anyone here has experienced Xara freezing up momentarily making you wait for it to load
when just first create a text line. Mine makes me wait a bit before allowing me to modify or start text.

I'm using a fast quad-core gaming computer that handles both games and graphics software with no problem. Just this weird particular one.

Does anybody have any knowledge of this or any tips?

Does this happen if you shut down the program and restart? Or if you reboot? Or if you create a new document?

Please could you also confirm whether this happens in all document types, or whether it is specific to Web or Print documents, or a specific file?

maybe to many fonts?
or a corrupt one?

Hello everyone,

OK here's the answers to those questions:

1. It does not matter if I shut it down or reboot
2. It doesn't matter what document types.
3. Doesn't matter what I font I use. Happens every time when I first do a text line.

IDK what to think on this one

Have you a screen capture video program to show us this delay?

Without it it's going to be difficult for members to understand your problem.

I've no recollection of any similar issue being raised here in TG.

I'm getting it too... but just to lazy to post about it.... happens on EVERY new boot of the program... once it does its thing, its done for the session. Just happens the first time you access the 'text' tool.

Feels like it's just reading through the font list, the cacheing it.

Hello CMPAN1. I knew that I couldn't be the only one this happens to.

Egg Bramhill. Basically just like CPMAN1 has stated, XARA freezes as soon as we access the text tool. It makes us wait a while and then allows us to use the text tool after waiting a bit. I dont have any screencaptures.

If it is the font list, how many do you have installed?

I have 300 fonts and no delay on any Xara Desktop application.

Hello Acorn, Yes. I do graphics and content creation for clients professionally.

So I have to have a lot of fonts. My font list is rather large. So is there a way to handle this problem or am I stuck with that?
