text-background-color issue

Dear Xara,

there is an issue when exporting text with text-background-color. Set the text-background-color over the end of a textline or set it from beginning to the end of the textline and choose centered or right-justified orientatian. If you export to pdf,web and others the text-background-color would set to the left end of the textline (see attached files). Exporting to jpg, png, tif and others are OK. I have not tested all formats.

Good call Werner.

This has always been a bug bear in Xara's SPAN calculations.

My test page: SPAN Fail.xar.

The SPAN, in the Centre & Right Justify prose, should be calculated as:

<span class="xr_tr Normal_text xr_s1" style="left: 39.14px; top: 112.99px; width: 265px;"><span class="Normal_text xr_s1" style="">deserunt nis</span>
instead of
<span class="xr_tr Normal_text xr_s1" style="left: 9.14px; top: 112.99px; width: 295px;"><span class="Normal_text xr_s1" style="">deserunt nis</span>

and the run-on background colour stopped. What surprised me was the Left Justify fail as well.

Also the following was reported to the support. But no reaction and no ticket.

Brush profile
Some brush profiles do not print correctly. This problem existed, if I remember correctly,
ever with version 10 or 11. As a workaround you can change the print output setting to "bitmap"
or export the document as a PDF and then print (but both just workarounds).


Function TextInside
When exporting to Word, TextInside objects do not or incorrectly display the text.
