This feature is quite helpfull to change the underlaying objects without effecting the original, This feature can be found in Abode 5-7

I searched in PP to see if i can have the same effects as Adjustment layers, Geuss what, i found something similar

It is called Lens
( AddNoise, Brightness, ColorBalance, Desaturate,Invert,......etc)

Which will not distort the original objects

use them they are coool

The whish list is to have more lens, why not all the effects in PP can be a lens

I hope i helped others

If there is more info and tutorials regarding this unknown feature , let us know

Can we convert objects to Lenses?

All effects could be Lens. You duplicate your object, apply effect to duplicate, and it is a lens.

Thanks

How do you do that?

Lens effects what is underneath, depending on the type of lenes, If you mean layer modes (normal, overlay, hue.....) then it is not what i am talking about.

I have a women pic as backround object

1- created a Desaturate Lens
2- The lens covers the whole image
3- you can size it, to reflect only the covered portion

My questions is: How can i convert any objects or a path or a mask shape to a lens?

So In my above example shows only the face is Desaturated (not colored) but the whole body is colored.

"All effects could be Lens. You duplicate your object, apply effect to duplicate, and it is a lens."

I hope it is true,

I did an old Daivd Huss tutorial on PP8, and i am sure that it was a circle lens, i moved it around and created a nice gif file,
But I FORGOT IT THE WAY

I did it, just a 30 seconds from my desperate Help PLZ

I did it ))))))))))

1- create a mask, any mask you want from any objects there is

2- From Object menu Create- NewLens...

3- select the type of lens, OK

4- then play around with it

Note : you can apply any effects( depends on the type of the lens) to thia lens

thanks

Create a circle mask.

Object Create a Lens. Select Hue-Saturation-Lightness.

Move Saturation slider to desaturate.

Now use pick tool and move object lens.

Hope it helps.

You could use an image as a mask and create very interesting effects.

Thanks for all both of you,
I always had a question and you find a nice way of answering it, hanks again for both of you

This is why i think someone should mention and shows all the things that PP can do

Like Adobe site they have a comparative features between PP and PS, wher of course they try to convince others (new commers) that PS has more interseting features than PP and it is the choice for them, I posted in corel site once , that corel should be more agressive in marketting their products.

Imagine that PP11 can apply most of the effects interactively, Like applying LensFlare & lightning and all the distrot effects, WooooooW
Like applying those effects in CorelDraw.
it is killer feature to have, don't you agree with me.

Remember that you can edit bitmaps in PP within DRAW, and many effects could be applied in DRAW without launching PP.

Interactive tools are those used frequently.

I tried your way, converted an object to bitmap and tried to use the interactive tools in coreldraw but with no luck

i hope this is what you meant, because this is what i meant with my whish list to have an interactive effects in pp10

You can apply the bitmap filters from the Effects menu, but a dialog box open to set the paramters, preview the OK, not what i meant by interactive
