I agree Egg, but much of this, in my opinion, was due to Magix dispensing with G.B's services. The XaraZone was buzzing in those days and had many watchers too, all had one thing in commom, they were gaining some fantastic knowledge from G.B. for free and were encouraged to post their new found skills in the Xone or Xara Art Gallery.

Don't spend more than an erg (unit of energy!) more than you already do, Ron. You're one of the most active members on tg; I definitely didn't mean to prod you, my buddy!

I consider this to be a Xara piece, because the file has the extension XAR. Drew it with a felt marker, auto-traced it with Vector Magic—no, I'm, not going to apologize— cleaned it up in Xara from an imported SVG, and did some greyscale colouring.

Default Mr. Spork, Warp Factor 2

    Thanks, Ron!

I think sporks are such a stupid utensil, I decided to elevate it to "pro" status.

    Default Toonsville Farms!

Just a logo, and a visualization on a carton I modeled and rendered.

I suck at cartoons. This was a good challenge!

Oddly, small icons are not 32 pixels square but instead 35.

Rather than fuss with default icons to change their size when they sorta suck to begin with, I've created a series of icons in Xara.

    Here's some from earlier 2018

I've attached the XAR file in case you'd like to use them, or study them for your own icon adventures. Several of these icons might not mean anything; I use some obscure programs, and ones that just don't have a defauly icon I can remember or bear to look at!

I also have a request: Can we help to make tg less of a morgue? It's depressing to post stuff without any replies, and knowing that there are forums with more traffic whose product(s) is inferior to Xara.

    TIA,

    Gare

Thank you for sharing the xar file, it sure will give me a place to start and learn more from, I have been away from TG for some time, dealing with family matters over the past few years and really did not do much of anything, other than keep a very loose eye on things. But learning how to do and work with graphics is something I'm getting back in to as well catching up on all latest computer tech, I am very tankful there are people still here keep things active and have gotten some good tips and guides on how to get things done.

Just an idea here, maybe if the more knowledgeable here with Xara made videos nothing real fancy just more like starter how to kind of stuff, and get them up on you tube, it could bring in more new faces and give a revival to TG. Just my 2 cents.

    Sincerely
    SGTDRE

    Default Modern setting

That's both educational and helpful. Thanks for the link, Eric!

This took more work than one would image because of the viewpoint and the "lens" (which is a little wide) suggested in the scene.

Reflecting back, which is easy except for a vampire in front of a mirror, the drop shadow probably shouldn't be soft-edged.

You are right Gare, the shadow should be darkest with no soft edge close to the object, but it does get lighter and softer the further away it gets. Just my 2 cents worth.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
