Default Re: Bouton's stuff, Volume 2

I wanted to try doing something a little like a deep brown and black duotone image for version 16. I traced off a sculpture I made using Goxel (which is free), and then got to disorting and filtering composition.

    Again, all the composing work=XD.

That really changed the look of it, Gary.

    Thanks!
Could the design be all vector?

Yes, of course it could be. I was just playing with the Goxel program and come up with something I liked and rather than tracing it off, I used it.

    Wot a concept!

Here's one I did that involved no other program than Xara. I set up planes in perspective, and then after designing and element, I used the Perspective mode of the Mould tool to line the extremes up with my grids.

It's a little "dark", but I thought the geometry was novel.

Very nice and great depth! Any meaning to the '8' shape?

    Ooops, sorry!

I did it for version 8.

Here's some of the more recent art for the splash screens. I tried to be consistent with the typefaces and layout across versions.

    Thank you, Graham.

I wanted to get excited about creating great stuff while Xara is loading!

    Default A free vector sunset

Here's an example—feel free to download this, it's a TGIF Gift, let's say—a sunset Barbara took when we were in Hollywood, Florida a few years ago.

Fool Disclosure: I did edit a few places; Inkscape solved most of the work for me, though.

If I have anything relevant to Dear Xara, I'll be sure to post it there. This will be my last O/T here; the following is just going to be my chicken scratchings!

    Default A thorny hamburger

This is the first chance I've had all this year to sit d9ow, undisturbed, and just draw.

I used two "helper" programs, but this basically a Xara Designer piece.

Nice image but, I suspect, a digestive challenge.
