    When I looked at this last week I could not make out the writing, everything else was coming through. Today when I looked again the writing pop out immediately. Isn't it strange how the mind works.

    Thanks for all the great comments. Gene and I have been trying to come up with new images every other day for our eyeTricks 3D Stereograms Facebook page so I am getting lots of practice. Even after doing these images for over 20 years now, I still learn new things.

    Well recently I have been doing more work with transparencies. The Photo Tool > Select Colors to Enhance works really well to drop out a color (usually black) while maintaining the saturation of the other colors. I have been doing a lot of layering with transparency.

    A traditional hidden image stereogram contains no transparency and no shadows. Your eyes see the shape. By adding layers, actually several different stereograms, I can achieve transparency. I'll post another example of this effect later.

    The attached image makes ample use of Select Colors to Enhance to drop out a black background but keeps the solid colors of the image.
