Default Crop Photo to a Specific Size

    Hello,

I have many iphone photos that need to be cropped to 1024x768 for the client. It seems that my only option is to create a rectangle of that size, make it somewhat transparent, position the photo behind the image and when ready, select both rectangle and photo and click Ctrl-3 (Arrange - Combine Shapes - Intersect Shapes).

It works but it is very tedious. Is there a better way?

    Thanks,
    tom

if they are all the same size and you want to crop in the same place for each - use the align tool to align them all on top of each other, select them all and group - then do the intesect on the grroup, then ungroup

when I do this I copy the rectangle to clipboard then I can paste for each crop, saves having to make it every time

handrawn's method is a good way to go. You can also make a page 1024 x 764 and add a same size rectangle. Duplicate the page for as many photos as you need and drag and drop the photos onto the page. Hold down the Shift key when you drop the photo.

Hi Tom, welcome to TG. What size are the original photos?

    Egg - The photos on my iPhone X are 4032 x 2024px

I see where you are going but I am not sure of the math. The reduction is close to 25% but not exactly. At least not at the default size of my images.

Ah, but at this size if you change the size in the Width of Selection box to 1024 and hit Enter, the photo does scale down to 768 Height.

You had me doubting my math there Gary. I think you mean 4032 x 3024?

    25.39% does it.

    Thanks everyone!

It would seem that my method may be the best. I was really hoping someone would say "Duh. Why wouldn't you do x?" As for applying math or a specific page, the crops are quite variable. The crop takes place at different places and at various magnifications (reductions, actually) of the original. Sometimes orientation is switched.

Not sure why you even thought that there may be a quick way to do that.
