I agree that this is a serious problem with the tables... and personally I will still use your own table widget when the focus is importing or changing significant quantities of data. But for the occasional table where content is relatively static, I really think Xara's implementation is a nice start, and hope they will develop it.

Tables! Online Content Catalogue > Search: tables --> Table 01 to Table 06.

Also, top menu, Insert > Table... takes you right to the Online Content Catalogue tables.

If you apply a small bit of horizontal skew and the vertical skew, I have seen it do some odd things. However, I have turned smart transform off as per Gary P's post ... Right click the lock icon.

When you apply an outline to a shape that contains text, the text also gets an outline. This is really undesirable behaviour, especially if the text is small. Can I stop the text getting an unwelcome outline?
