F1 Logo - Old and New

You may or may not watch Formula 1 racing, but, they have a new logo for 2018.

I've attached both logos - up to 2017 and the one for 2018.

What do you think of the original and what do you think of the new one?

I'm not nuts about either. They are trying too hard.

A bit meh, I'd say. I liked the numeral in the 2017 version and I like the F in the 2018 one. With a bit of a skew on the 2017 "1" to match the 2018 "F" and I would like it more.

It strikes me that the old version is going the wrong way. The speed lines are in front of the logo instead of behind.

And actually, I think I would repeat the curve from the top of the 1 on the bottom right.

Of the two, I like last years better.

Gary, I think the the think is that the F is the first part of the logo so it would be more like the front of the car not the rear.
