    I used Brightness transparency (now missing in the transparency menu but available with a registry tweak). Seems appropriate for a moon over the SF Bay Area.

    So, what's the registry tweak?
    Under 15 > Options > Displays > ShowLegacyTransparency (second to the last in the Displays options) change the setting to 1.
