Default Integration with Xara Web Designer

I have just started using trial of Web Designer Premium and was hopeful I could use the website created from this in Online Designer to do some collaborative design with the team. However, when I click on the link for Online Designer from the menu bar in Web Designer, whilst it takes me to Online Designer, my website from Web Designer is not displayed. I also do not know how to open it separately in Online Designer?

Although it implies Online Designer can be used for websites, there does not appear to be any real focus in the application on the use case for websites. Is it the intention to be able to use Online Designer for websites and, if so, how do you do that??

The link is to get to the Online designer web presence. At that point, you will not have published your site. How would Xara Online Designer know where to put things?

There is a publish step you need to get through first.
You can publish to Xara Hosting.
You can set up accounts and publish to Google, Dropbox and Microsoft Cloud services. These handshake with Xara Online Designer to allow access to your design file.

There is a lot to read into here: http://www.xara.com/uk/resources/onlinedesigner/.

Thanks for the clarification! I did manage to get the website up on Online Designer by loading it into Dropbox (see other discussion thread). Interestingly, when I first loaded it into dropbox, it did not show up for selection in Online Designer, but at some point later it did become visible.

I guess my expectation in following the link from Web Designer was that the project I was working on in Web Designer would be loaded into Online Designer 'automagically'. Might be worth Xara considering a step where they ask if user wants the current project to be loaded?

Good, the more you put in, the more you get back when using Xara's applications.

Yes, Very True. Awesome Application for designers as it helps them a lot in Web designing and graphic designing. Xara has amazing features such as powerful page layout and design tools, high resolution images with ease, manual controls (brightness, contrast, sharpen, blur, saturation, temperature and a new cross process option) and myriad specialties that i like the most.

    Thanks XARA
