Xara Web Design Premium Copy/Paste Special

Hi, I have Xara Web Design Premium. I have Serif Web+2 software program. I'd like to copy text from Serif and paste it into the template I am using in Xara Web Design. The background in Xara Web Design is black with white font. When I paste the text into Xara Web design, it pastes the text, but with a white background. I've noticed that I can use the paste special with the data format of HTML placeholder and it pastes correctly. What exactly is the HTML placeholder? Is it safe to use this so I don't have to try to figure out how to get the white background of the pasted text to the color black.

I am not sure why this is happening. But try this. Select the text in Serif with the text tool, then copy.

In Web Designer, click in the text area you want to replace then press Ctrl + A (Select All). Then right click and select Paste > Paste Unfomatted Text.
