Default Changing text size in mobile variant

Changing text size in mobile variant changes the main text size, how to avoid this and still be able to edit text to show the same on both variants?

The only way to fix this is to turn off sharing which really defeats the purpose of variants and sharing.

I believe you should give each a different style. Linking keeps the text the same but you change the style of one without affecting the other.

Yes, change the text in the mobile variant and select from the Style drop-down window "Update in this variant".

Thank you friends. Do you think this is something that has been requested or needed from Xara?

But, it's already covered. A Style applies across everything so you (1) need to style your text (2) have a different style in each variant.

Thanks, so maybe I should name all my variant styles with a dash-mobile.

That's not really necessary nor desirable. You have one text style for both variants, e.g. 'Normal text,' which is very useful if you decide to change, for instance, the font across both variants. In this case, select "Update style." But when you want to make changes that you only want to apply to one variant (e.g., the color or size) you select "Update style in this variant." In other words, you don't have to create a new style.

Yes, you do have to pay close attention to the changes you wish to apply across the website or only in one variant but once you set up a coherent system at the beginning, construction and later maintenance of your site are a breeze with regards to text style changes. I suggest you read the "Text Styles" chapter in the Help file and experiment on a dummy file first because there quite a few more options that are useful.
