Modeling a computer

Well I am working on a computer model. This is a wip. I am not happy with the monitor so I real most likely redo it.

The model is loosely based on my Dell Dimension 4100. Modeled in Rhino.

Hi Randy--

Your geometry appears to be good in the image. I think you need to play around with the lighting and add a wood grain to the table top.

Attached is my attempt at a computer for and advertisement ages ago. If there are any hints in this picture, please feel free to adopt them.

Stu - I am not looking forward to texturing it. Making decals for all the keys does not sound like a fun project.

Gary - I like your image, and has a commercial/illustration feel to it. I have not made any textures for this image (except the image for the monitor), and the lighting is the default light.

I will take this model when I am finished and imort into Cinema 4d and texture and make a table. I think I am going to put it into the room scene that I posted in the texture challenge thread.

Nice image Gary.


Randy instead of decal maps maybe try using Photoshop or Xara for the keys and use transform commands for the right placement [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif[/img]


For the plastic material you have try adding just a smidgeon of noise into the color channel of the plastic,I do this often and it seems to work quite well sometimes.
