I think you have the joy of Auto-fit to page to yet face.

I have a v12 object that is Bottom; in v15, I now am shown Bottom-Left as the convert.

No, they've augmented it so you have more manual control using the new feature.

You really need to read the http://releasenotes.xara.hosting/auto-fit/ guide to understand what it now offers.

It’s important to understand that even if this option is un-checked existing documents that had items marked as footers, or to stretch, will continue to behave the old way. This option just enables the new, more comprehensive, automatic positioning of items on the page.
