it's for a previous version of xara 3D maker but the principles are the same
I don't think a spinning logo will be a trend, as its using situation is very limited and making a good spinning logo requires experiences and a lot of works. I don't see many good spinning logos.
But if you insist, the simplest way I can think of is:
First create a 2D logo in DesignEvo logo maker and adding Glow and Outline, it will be a 3D logo. Download it.
Go for Blender Designer, and design 3D and make it spin.
The two tools mentioned above are all freewares.

I have to agree in that spinning logos won't be a mainstream trend. There's a place for them though and it's a fun way to show off your brand identity. You can design a 2D logo with a service like GraphicSprings and then take it to magix.com/us/xara-3d-maker/detail/. Hope that helps!
