Think I may give up...!! And then just stick to Premium 10 although that means I've wasted the upgrade money.

I think I have got rid of all my previous versions of the Xara software, and then reloaded Premium 365.

I then went into one of the Xara templates that come with the software and just changed some of the wording on the index page, as well as pasting an a and e with accents. Uploaded to my spare hosting space, www.leighextence.co.uk, expecting all to be okay as I hadn't deviated in anyway, and it was all out of kilter... there were gaps before both the pound sign and the 1/2 sign. I added three dots in a row, as in... and they weren't there, just a much longer gap, and the accents were non-existent. And why is there a copyright sign? Something, somewhere, somehow doesn't like what I am doing.

Below is how it reads when inserted in the 365 software, but not when saved, exported and uploaded:

So now, using a website that came with the premium 365 am I able to use a £ sign, and then a ½ inch, or is it still going to play up? If it does then it must be a conflict on the comp. How about inflections?
How about cut and paste from word? é à ê unformatted. This is odd as it seems to put a gap above when I pop in the £ sign, although this may be different as I'm putting in completly new text including both the ½ inch sign and the three dots at the end... How about a single dot.
and another three dots... £ sign ½ inch

I've copied the last paregraph from you post above and pasted it as unformated text into a Xara page & published it. Click the link to see what I get. It looks fine to me. I would also suggest copying from Word into Notepad and copy paste into Xara from there. By the way the font is Calibri which used to cause problems but is sorted now.

Really grateful for the help... so it must be at my end. I'm using a fresh template on 365 and just adding my wording; it is Trebuchet MS font.

I checked your link, and see the wording is fine, but out of interest why does it not look like a website?

    Thanks, Leigh

    Info Re: Inflections in script

Π came from http://math.typeit.org/. I use this for Math / Sci and http://symbols.typeit.org/ to save time.
Text entered (✍) is preserved across any of the specialist keyboards.
Some buttons have hover hints that are good shortcuts for these sites but may not transfer to Xara or TG directly.

P.S. Egg's Link is a web site as shown here, if you right-click and select view-source:http://www.parkeston.com/inflections/.
