OpenType Font Variations

Hi

What is the status of support in the various Xara products for OpenType Font Variations?
Will we get a slider to dynamically adjust the weight?
Is there a tool which can take a font file and adjust the weight to output a new font file for users of older software?

OT Feature support at this time is limited to stylistic sets and ligatures. And within those supported features, each are limited to the type of lookups supported.

I seriously doubt whether variable fonts would ever be supported.

There is currently limited support for variable fonts in a true font editors. I am unaware of any of those editors that can save out instances, but I have very limited knowledge of variable font editors and how they work.

To the best of my knowledge that capability does not exist. Adobe used to have Multiple Master PostScript fonts that worked this way.

Designer Pro X12 (365) has added OpenType support for ligatures and style sets though the interface is currently a work in progress.
