    Default Full Eclipse Photo

Taken at McMinnville, OR., 21 Augjust 2017 at approx 10:17a.m.

This is from a frame extracted from a .MOV taken with an iPad II so the quality is not too great.

I used Xara to soften the pixelation of the blues in the sky.
When looking at the total eclipse with the naked eye, the dark moon was very visible and the sun's corona appeared as an incredible intense, bright, pure white light (similar to an automobile's LED headlight); however, the corona was too bright for the iPad and the moon couldn't be captured.

I added the moon in the second photo.

We had a heavy cloud cover but the clouds thinned for a few minutes and I got this shot at the maximum eclipse for New Mexico.

Then about 30 minutes later, the clouds broke and the sun came out.

    Cosmic joke.

Oh Wow! This is brilliant! But i must say that even by just looking at it my eyes sought of hurt. I can only imagine what the real effect feels like.

Yes, really. However, unless you have good camera with the proper settings and filter you can't really capture what the eye sees. For example, the first photo. Where I added the moon ... that really is close to what a full eclipse looks like to the human eye.
