Default Change Default on InfoBar Padlock?

Is there any way to change the default condition of the InfoBar padlock, which controls the relation of selected element height and width, to "unlocked" instead of "locked?"

Hmm? Not sure. I would think it remembers the last setting but I am probably wrong.

You could try creating a template and see if it stays set.

Yes, create a template with the Snap to Objects unselected. Hope that's what you mean.

Why is ticking or unticking the Lock Aspect Ratio button no good for you?

Because it doesn't stay in unlock status and the lock status display is very dim on my monitor. So, when I'm working, I don't notice that it has changed to lock status until I make a change to some object and see an undesired result. It's not the end of the world, but it would be better if it would stay where I set it until I manually changed it.

Good to understand though I have never seen mine toggle.

Do you use the dark-grey interface? I'm using the light-grey UI and it clearly shows the function status when toggled.

I didn't know you could do that. How do you change to light-gray?

It's a workaround that's not officially supported and I should warn you that on some systems the light-grey setup doesn't seem to work optimally (in some cases not all buttons show but this issue might be solved by minimizing and then maximizing the program window so that the UI gets redrawn).

That said, it's a very simple operation: go to C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Designer Pro X\12 (depending on what version of Xara software you have), locate xaradark_theme.xml and move the file to another folder. Make sure you keep it in a safe place because you might want to use it again. When you go to Window/Control bars... there is the option to select large or small buttons.
