What does (No PMs) mean next to my name?

I looked in my profile and wanted to enable PM's but I can't seem to find it. Is this something automatic?

Hi Gary,

The ability for PMs is enabled after X number of posts--and what that number is I forget. Likely it's 10 or 20 posts...but I cannot remember and the FAQ for this topic doesn't say.

Yes, as Mike points out, new members are restricting from posting links and from sending PM (private messages). I am not sure of the number either but it is something like 20 posts. The reason for this is to discourage members who join for the sole purpose of self promotion or spam or both.

Is it possible for a mod with certain privileges to enable PMs if it is thought that the person is a legitimate user?
