Default Help!!! Trying 3 versions of Xara with the same results

I was trying to update a simple graphic in web designer 11, then xara 11 and 12 all with the same results. If I copy and paste and image it comes in as a clear box of dashes framing the area where the graphic should be. When I tried to draw the logo, all I get are red dashes for lines that are un fillable. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you are pasting/working on the guides layer. Make a New Layer to paste on/in. HTH

Or open the Page & Layer Gallery and make sure the MouseOff (Web Designer) or Layer 1 (Designer Pro) is selected. Then paste.

Click the eye icon next to the Guides Layer to make the layer invisible and see if what you're seeing goes away.

If so make the Guides layer visible. select that layer and press Ctrl A (Select All), Edit > Cut, then select Layer 1 or MouseOff layer and Edit > Paste.

If we had a list of all the times we missed something, it might take weeks to read through.
