    Default Editing Sliders

Hi Apologies if this has been discussed before but I cannot find out what I need to know.

I currently use Webplus x8 as my website designer. In that you can download a slider and fully edit, replace photos and add text next to images. I have such a slider on a current site homepage. www.mcpf.co.uk

I have tried all sorts of ways to edit the importable sliders available but cannot seem to do what I want. I have resized an image to the size I want and replaced the photo but sometimes it works and other times it resizes back to the original size. The same happens with text as well. If I remove the original photo and place a new one in place, but all I get is the no link symbol (small cross in a box).

I have tried to just resize the original image and text but nothing happens.

Cannot work out if it the programme not able to do what I want, or the programme has bugs or I am missing a step when I try I edit.

I have looked at the slideshow widget but cannot see that I can resize an image and add text box.

Software is Xara webdesigner Premium 365 running on windows 7 IE version 11 and chrome

Thanks for taking the time to look at my question. But as you can see the image did not resize it merely filled the existing placeholder. I really want to be able to replicate the slider from webplus, as the text is really the important information I use it to advertise events and news for the members.

I tried 3 or 4 of the available widgets including the one you chose but no luck. But life is about compromises so perhaps this is one of those occassions

Yes, the slider has a set W & H so you'll need to size your images to match.

Hi Been busy so only just come back to this question. Have looked at the link you sent but not sure what I am looking at! Is it supposed to change to another image much as it does on the current serif designed website. I have looked at all the alternatives ways to do this including setting each image and caption as a jpg in photoshop and importing it as an image into the basic widget programme but that didn't work either.

Yes, and it does. Can't you see the changing images?

That's brilliant I perhaps wasn't patient enough before to see it changing. How did you do it

In all fairness Egg, the first image only changed for me on a fast connection after 10 seconds and the others flexed round every 2 seconds thereafter. The overall page payload must be quite large so a load on demand approach might be needed especially when the Internet connection is relatively slow.
