Xara Pro 10 not giving print option on HP Photosmart

Hi.

I have just purchased the latest Xara Pro Designer Pro X.

When I select Print, then Printer, it takes me to my printer stings but most of them are blank.

I cannot select any paper options, print quality orientation or anything.

I still have Designer Pro X10 installed and that works fine with my HP Photosmart Premium All-in-One printer.

Has anyone any advice.

Yes, that is what I am getting.

As I have already said though, I still have Designer Pro X10 64bit installed which I have had for 2 years and that prints just fine.

So it must be something to do with the Xara printer driver, as all my other software prints just fine.

one thing you can do is right click and run the program as administrator - if it works you only need to do it once -but it might not

what printer do you have - maybe someone else may have the same and can shed some light...

I have a HP Photosmart Premium Fax all in one.

I have checked the driver and it says I have the latest driver. Been to HP website and the latest driver they list is the one I have installed.

I don't know if Xara products became sensitive to long printer names, but another piece of software I use is. The recommendation for it is to rename the driver(s) to a shorter name. And it works for that software. And the only printers with longer names that it has issues with are all-in-ones.

no what I meant was right click on the shortcut for the xara designer program and run that as administrator [is an option on the menu that you will get when you right click]

interesting Mike - I have an all in one brother printer, but the name is not particularly long, wondering if it's an HP related issue

I tried the 'Run as Administrator' no difference.

Only having the problem with this latest Designer Pro.

Have filled in a support ticket so will have to see what they say.

I haven't got the full version dvd yet by post, but doubt that will be different.
