Designer Pro X11 64bit - Print Bug?

Hi.

When I try and print using XDP X11 64bit, the printer driver options are missing - being able to select paper type and quality options etc. are just not available.

However, when I use XDP X11 32bit, all options are available.

You will see by the attached images, when I click 'Printer...' on the 64bit version, the 'Paper' section is blank.
Then, when I click on 'Properties' all sections are blank, and strangely, the tabs are in Chinese/Korean type language.

On the 32bit version, all options are as selectable and as they should be.

Any ideas, please?

Hi Rik, Think that might be due to your printer driver not been written for 64 bit. Loads of the older printers have not been updated and not being supported. I have an old Canon S9000 and have all the page sizes there and when I go into properties I can select what type of paper I want to print on. The same goes for my HP laser printer as it is a newer model the menu nearly looks like yours.

I'd check your printer drivers are up to date Rik - it's possible that it is a 64bit/32bit issue rather than a xara one as such

That's exactly where I downloaded the driver from.
I re-installed the driver, before posting here.
Yup! I'm on Windows 64bit and I installed the driver for 64bit.

And as I said,
XDP X11 64bit has the problem,
and
XDP X11 32bit doesn't have the problem.

ok Rik - but there is no way to tell from that if the issue is a xara issue or an HP driver issue [or a bit of both]
best thing you could do is try testing the printer with another 64 bit app

I don't have any issues printing from my 64bit DXP12 to my brither printer...

I have in-installed and re-installed the printer driver.
Still the same.

If I look at the printer preferences/properties in Devices and Printers, all looks fine there.

And, it may be that the issue is not totally with Xara.
If I start Affinity Designer, I gat the same problem there. I'm assuming that AD is 64bit?!

If I start Illustrator, then that seems to take a different path to the preferences. I have an option called 'Setup'. If I click on that, then I get all the correct options and no issues.

Later, I'm going to connect the printer to another PC, and see if I get the same problem there.

yes affinity is 64bit

[if you look on your system drive [C:] 64bit programs are in the 'Program Files' folder and 32bit programs are in the 'Program Files (x86)' folder]

edit - which begs the question - is your illustrator 64 or 32 bit?

There are some issues with printers, in my case HP Office Jet not being able to print selected pages, but that appears to have been fixed in the last update.

I installed the Printer Drivers onto another Windows 10 64bit PC.

Same issue on that PC.
