Default Simple and quick removal of background colour

    HI,
I wondered whether anyone had a link to a video to show how to quickly remove a background colour? I have a logo that is simply blue text on a white background and I'd like to remove the white background. I found videos on Photoshop and it looks really simple there but as I don't have Photoshop but only XPG10...

The problem with this logo Andy is the resolution is low and the quality is not great. And for some reason when I upload the logo here with no background it loses the transparency I think.

What I did was place the logo on a white page and apply Flat - Multiply (Stained Glass) transparency which removes the white. Then I created a new bitmap copy, True Color + Alpha.

What I would suggest for this logo however is that you try to recreate it. Here are some fonts that might work https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/...8cd1&x=88&y=33

Let's see if this works. I zipped the logo. Down download and then open the zip file.

I did get this, but as you say the resolution is not very good. I also thought that re-drawing the logo might be quicker... I used a logo that was in the guy's email footer. Just opened your attachment and that looks good. Thanks. But still playing with it all. Will try to get a better quality graphic from client.

The name of the company is using the font "Tw Cen MT" which has shipped with Office in the past. The tagline is likely Arial Bold.

Here's a redo of the logo, text has been converted to curves. It is on top of the bitmap...

    Well done Mike.

Andy - This might be a good time to revisit this logo and make it more approachable. The letter spacing on the MOTEHILL SOLUTIONS text is way to tight and makes it hard to read.

Thanks Mike and Gary for your advice. I will definitely suggest revamping the logo. I don't think it is very eye-catching and I'm sure they will want to have it remodeled when I mention it.

    Andy,

Going back to the original question, how about this:

In XARA PGD10, go to HELP > MOVIES click on the "THE PHOTO TOOL" category, and down the right side, the seventh video down is entitled BACKGROUND ERASE. It's an easy to understand video, and does a really good job of doing EXACTLY what you wanted.
