    Rik, just drew the line to match the outer D,
    cloned and resized it for the inner D and did some adjustment to better match the original shape,
    applied the blend
    and then adjusted some nodes of the inner D so that the edges aligned.

    You need to activate the '1 to 1 node mapping' button. Just tried in V11.
