Ups & Downs of Football

Here in the UK, Newcastle and Sunderland football teams are bitter rivals.

Last year, Newcastle got relegated and Sunderland just about managed to avoid relegation.

Well, this year, Sunderland are going to get relegated to the Championship and Newcastle are going to be promoted back to the Premiership.
So, they're going to pass each other - one going up and one going down!

A friend of mine asked me to come up with a nice and simple design to show Newcastle going up and Sunderland going down.

The football shirt design is where I got the idea.
Newcastle are Black & White stripes and Sunderland are Red & White stripes.
So, this is what I came up with.

I was asked to make a change.
Put the Premiershio Logo at the top, the division that Newcastle are going up to.
And put the EFL logo at the bottom, the division that Sunderland are going down to.
Makes it a lot clearer, I think.
