Navigation bar sub-menu not displaying text

Hi all,

I've been having problems with my sites navigation bar.

It has decided to suddenly not display the sub-menu text on mouse over. The sub-menu appears but no text is displayed.

The links work, but the text is not visible.
This began, I believe, after I installed an update for Xara.

I have tried the following to no avail:

- Deleted the nav bar and rebuilt it from scratch.
- Removed the nav bar and used a different one from the content store.
- Rolled back to an older version of the site.
- Tried using it on Firefox & Chrome on different computers.
- Updated Java.

Annoyingly the text still displays properly using Internet Explorer(!)

It also displays properly in the preview windows for all browsers.

I've tried updating Chrome but no luck there.


Any ideas?

Are you using Verdana as the nav bar font.

If so try changing the font - there is a problem with Verdana following the update and a patch has been promised to fix this.

I am indeed using Veranda as the font...

Just out of interest; where did you find that info? I have been searching for a good few hours but keep coming up blank. My google-fu must need work.

I hit this Verdana font problem yesterday. I'm not definate on this but from what I could tell the problem seems to be not correctly exporting a .woff file for the verdana font which is referenced in xr_fonts.css - I got it working by putting some Verdana text on a temp page and then exporting which seemed to force it to export the .woff file correctly. I wonder if this export issue might happen with other fonts too. I also had a brief encounter with some truetype fonts not showing up but then they did on a program restart, so not sure if that was a one off or not.

Just updated the site and it now works.

Thanks for the tip on this. Found this and it worked when I changed it from Verdana. Was getting discouraged before and I am getting ready to upload our first responsive site with Xara.
