Default Lower case n types three dots (...)

Windows 10 and Xara Designer Pro 10. Everything has been operating normal until today. When I type the lower case n three dot appear on the screen. I have tried several fonts and I get the same results. This only occurs in Xara. I ran the Norton virus and no virus was found, I scan for malware and again none were found. I bought another keyboard, still have the same problem.

hi - do you mean three dots in a row? - technically that is called an elipsis when used for punctuation - xara will by default 'auto correct' three dots typed in a row to this one character

you can also type it in direct using alt+0133 [using the numeric keypad on right of keyboard]

I mention this because it may be your lower case n has become remapped for some reason

you can try running a repair on the program; if that does not work then maybe a reinstall...

if there is an easier answer, hopefully someone will know what it is

Ctrl + Alt + . also produces an ellipse.

Open the Auto Correct Options (see attached) and make sure there is no listing for n.

If this does not work you can try a reset, Window > Control Bars... and press Reset. This sets the program back to its default settings. (You will lose any custom tool bars and settings.

that would be elipsis not elipse gary

I tried mapping an n to the elipsis in the auto correct but couldn't get it to work - but I have it turned off anyway never use it, probably doing something wrong [again ]

ellipses is fine if it's in the plural... but ellipsis is the singular....

so an ellipsis not an ellipse

mind you I note I only put in one l instead of two so I guess I should go back to my greek primer... never could spell
