"Live Page" prevents working in FrontPage

I just purchased MenueMaker to update our website. I use FrontPage, and when I to "Insert" - MenueMaker - Nav Bar, I get a box that says it does it can not alter the contents of the page because it is currently live. It says either save it and alter the saved version or load the original.

I don't get this. What am I missing?? Thanks for your help.

Apparently it only works when the files that you are working on is not sitting on the server. The way I usually work on my website is that FP is reading and writing directly with the server, which makes a lot of sense to me.

The only way I could get it to "work" is to make a copy of the page on my desktop, work on that saved file, then import from FP onto the server, copy over the new file over the older version without the menu.

It is a big pain which is a major drawback to this software. It just won't work if your file, like mine, is sitting in your server.
