Hi guys,

Hi Mike,
I don't have the Web flavour of Xara, but the XDP uses 2 ways of applying a stroke to text.
1. The line tool (arrowed and highlighted in red in my attachment)
2. The Contour tool.
The weapon of choice though has to be the Contour tool. If you examine the two text lines, the blue text uses the Line and the red text uses the Contour tool.
You'll notice that in the blue version the line actually obscures the text as the line appears half in front of the text, making an ugly distortion of the text,
but using the Contour tool, the line is placed fully behind the text.

Thank you for your help.

But of course adding a stroke to text is meaningless if it's for web application. html doesn't accommodate strokes on text. You'll need to convert it to an image if you want this effect.

True with 'regular' outline... but not so for an outline created with the 'line gallery'... or a 'contour' outline.
That's because the text is converted to a bitmap I believe. Not home at present so I can't test this though
When I use the stroke or line gallery, the outline does not show up on the web page. And the Contour tool is nowhere to be found in Web Designer Pro 12. Is there any way to add a strok, outline, contour and have it show up on th website with my software??
Thanks,
Mike
like egg said - html, the code that a website is made from, does not support outlines on text; you need to make it a bitmap [image] for this to show, maybe svg [vector image] will do it as well
there is no such program as web designer pro - if you mean web designer premium that does not have all the drawing tools that designer pro X has

Hi Mike, see attachment, is this what you want? If so, there is a way with the shadow tool, just let me know and I will send instructions.
