Bug Text tool doesn'r work in Linux

I've just begin to use Xara Xtreme Version: 0.7 () in Linux. Everything looks fine, except text tool. When I click on text tool, I get cursor line, I try to draw a box and type. Nothing happens .
    What can I do?

xara discontinued support and development for the linux version years ago; so long ago I cannot remember what was and what was not implemented

click on the text tool, then click where you want the text to start; and then start typing; that should work - I doubt if the linux version ever supported text boxes

Thank you, I did it. I tried both, with or without text-box. If I click on the picture with active text-tool, I get a not-blinking cursor line, with right size. I begin to type and nothing happens.

sorry then I am not sure how to help further - you might get help in a linux forum if there are users there who use the old linux xara program

one last thing though - have you tried typing into a new empty document by just clicking on the canvas and then typing - the clicking should be done whilst you are in the text tool [not selector tool]

Default Resolved: Text tool doesn'r work in Linux

I did as you told me. and suddenly it works! And then it works even normally, upon other objects. I don't understand, why, but I need not understand everything...
    Thank you, handrawn..

    that's good

sometimes if you have something selected say, and the program is waiting for you to finish that, it will not move on and do what you think it should

all part of the learning curve; sometimes it is just better to start again

the more you use it the clearer it should become

    [I don't understand everything either...]
