As you are asking... Overall I'm thinking that I need more context to form a critical opinion. I'm mostly left asking questions about the choice of each montaged element and what the overall pictorial composition adds up to. As a demonstration of filter usage it’s a bit limited. I like the colour but I don't think I'd hang on my gallery wall.

This image serves no design purpose. My objective was to see what is possible with photo filters. Just having fun...

Thanks for background info and screenshot. I think I was getting a bit frustrated looking for hidden meaning. As a fun piece it's great - still not my thing though.

For me too much cumbersome. To got this result Idon't need the photofilters. Can do this with opacity and coloring.
    My opinion.

    Yeah Garry,
we had worked too long with Xara without this filters. And I don't need them. Because all this effects written in .js I/we can do manualy wit Xaras transparancy and coloring too.

I actually find the screenshot most interesting.

What a photo filter can do is preserve settings and even layers of textures and as graphissste has shown borders in a special photogroup that you can apply to one photo or a whole batch at once! it's a way to save your settings and more.

I figured out how it's done. Here is a screenshot of a preset I created. the border can be turned on or off , adjusted to make it wider or narrower or even colour adjusted.
