REPEL UNDER NOT WORKING

I cannot get text to repel around a jpeg. Yes, the text is typed/pasted in to a text box. Yes the jpeg is on top of the text. Yes, the "repel text under" box is checked.
Any suggestions?

What frequently causes this, and it is maddening, is the text itself might also be set to repel. Right click on the text area and make sure it is not set to repel.

Thank you. The text is now repelling under but not wrapping around jpg. Sample below.

You might want to type actual words with spaces... I bet it will work then!

or to put it another way - it is now working, but splitting a single. very very very long word, in the most sensible fashion for readability...

If you want to create filler text, in the Text Area press Shift + Ctrl + L a few times. You can format this text any way you want.
