Icon instead of a image

I was working with Xara Designer X (the newest version) I experienced a suddenly change. When I try to import a graphic file, the file menu shows only icons instead of displaying an image of the file. How can I correct this?

I think it is a system setting.
Go to the control panel and open the folder options.
Uncheck the option to always display symbols.
Apply to all folders.

SIRAN - That was the problem, I can not thank you enough. Now I can go to bed without having a huge knot int my stomach. I really appreciate your help.

How do I get my drawings to appear rather than the Xara Icon when I go to open them? I'm using windows 10.

Ron, Your earlier instructions worked perfectly. I created the following image to help others, I had a little problem finding the File Explorer Options. I files this graphic in my Xara Problems folder. MANY THANKS...
