Auto Save on Designer Pro X has become a nuisance

Hi,

I've had Xara Designer since very early versions and have never been inconvenienced by auto-saving until this latest version.

The screen will go completely black while auto-saving for several seconds at a time. This seems to happen quite often. Previously auto saving was so quick that I hardly noticed it happening.

Has anyone else noticed this change?

Ian, no. It will depend on the number of design files open and the speed of your graphics card and available memory.

Yes, I've noticed the black screen on occasional autosaves. Fairly new issue. Wasn't present in XDPX365 until recently. Perhaps a Windows 10 update issue?

I see this too and I have a brand new, very powerful machine.

Me as well. And I have a 1 year old rig, custom built for high-end gaming. Of course, all that power can be of no use to Xara in case it is not used by the program.

Just the inbuilt Windows Defender. My specs: Win 10 Pro, I7 6850K, GTX 1070, fast SSDs, 32GB RAM.
My impression is rather that Xara can't make effective use of available hardware.
